| Open opportunity LEGAL COUNSEL Role description: The professional will provide legal support to all Departments and stakeholders and learn from handling ongoing changes and complexity in dynamic and rapidly evolving areas of law with multi-jurisdictional differences. The candidate will work on a full-time basis and report directly to the Lead Counsel. Together with the Legal Lead, the Legal Counsel is responsible for providing legal advice to the different departments within the Company. Key responsibilities of the person in this role include amongst other: - Providing administrative support for legal documentation; - Provide a full range of detailed legal advice and guidance to departments, including detailing options and consequences, to enable taking legal and commercial decisions based on considered and measured risks in the best interest of the Company; - Actively participate in the preparation, drafting, negotiation and implementation of a wide variety of local and international agreements in compliance with the laws, regulations, and Company rules; - Remain up to date on new laws and regulations passed that might affect the way in which the company operates; - Participate in negotiations with all external parties that the company may deal with; - Dealing with general day to day operational legal enquiries from departments; - Assisting in drafting and reviewing corporate documents, including board/shareholders meeting minutes/resolutions, POA’s, MOA’s, licenses etc.; - Undertaking general corporate work (such as registration and liquidation of companies, share transfers, etc.), visiting and following up with various governmental authorities (including the notary public), and maintaining up-to-date corporate documents of the entities he/she oversees; - Conducting legal research and analysis, prepare presentations and consolidated reports/summaries for the Regional Legal Lead. Requirements: - Law Degree from a reputable university; - Minimum 5 years' experience; - Master´s degree in Oil and Gas or previous experience would be a considerable advantage; - Legal knowledge of UK or US law is a plus; - Fluency in both Portuguese and English (speaking, reading and writing); - Commercial mindset; - Must be a self-driven, resourceful, results and deadline oriented, and have a high multi-task proficiency; - Able to work in a fast paced, changing business environment; - Excellent legal research and analysis skills; - Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Power Point, Word and Excel.
